DESCRIPTION:A during-school STEAM education course for attendees of Robert E. Peary Middle School\, Gardenia\, California only. (Not open to public)\n\nExperts in education\, industry\, and national security all agree that there is a national imperative to graduate students with a thorough understanding of science\, technology\, engineering\, and mathematics (STEM). An education in arts (e.g.\, music\, visual studies) has recently been recognized and been shown to improve creativity and innovation in children who study for four years. \nThis course provides an introduction to STEAM by combining a mix of lecture and exciting hands-on experiments and projects that inspire kids and help them develop an awareness of their potential for higher education and career selection.
